Last Modified - 23 April 2020

During the lockdown, teachers have come down against the UP Board for making online education compulsory in UP board schools. District school inspector RN Vishwakarma has issued an order that special adverse entry in the character register will be marked against the teacher-teacher who did not start teaching children online by forming a WhatsApp group. As well as disciplinary action will be taken by requesting the manager. UPMSP News

The DIOS had written a letter to all the principals on 21 April instructing them to teach 100 percent of the students from April 20 by connecting them to the WhatsApp group. Also, action has been warned against not doing so. In opposition to this, teacher leaders say that there are many aged teachers who do not have mobiles. Latest UPMSP News

Many teachers do not own smartphones, so action against them is not appropriate. Because he was not appointed for online teaching nor is there a provision in his terms of service. Significantly, on the first day of online teaching, on 20 April itself, online teaching started in 828 of the 1969 schools. On the first day, 101555 students of secondary schools were benefited by this.

RN Vishwakarma (DIOS) said – Teachers who have never used a smartphone can reach children by talking with a normal phone. You can inspire with the help of your colleagues. Online learning is now mandatory, not electives.

Suresh Kumar Tripathi (Teacher MLA) said- In the present situation, the teachers are discharging the responsibility with utmost seriousness. Most teachers are taking virtual classes, taking self interest. In this case, this type of order is not acceptable. Threatening teachers is not fair. Otherwise there will be picketing when the lockdown opens.

Lalmani Dwivedi (State General Secretary Secondary Teachers Association Thakurai faction) said – Regarding online education, the educational authorities are sending false information to the government for applause, on the other hand sending letters to managers and principals threatening action against teachers. All teachers are doing their best, under these circumstances, if action is taken against any teacher, it will be strongly resisted. If necessary, we will also use the court.
