The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked universities and colleges to use Massive Open Online Course (MOOC – MOOC) of 82 undergraduate and 42 postgraduate non-engineering streams available on the ‘Self’ (SWAYAM) platform to facilitate credit transfer. Can be made. These courses, approved by the board itself, will be offered from the semester starting July 2020.
Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that students can avail credit by completing these courses as per UGC’s current regulations for online learning courses.
He informed that the UGC has shared a list of 82 UG and 42 PG non-engineering MOOC courses with university vice-chancellors and principals of colleges, which will be offered on the ‘self platform in the July 2020 semester.
The minister said that these courses cover subjects like Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Education, Law, Computer Science & Engineering, Commerce, Management, Pharmacy, Mathematics, History, Hindi, Sanskrit etc.
He also said that in the current scenario of Kovid-19 epidemic, students, teachers, people willing to learn for life, senior citizens and housewives can enroll.
