The lockdown has had a major impact on the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission recruitment exam calendar. The Commission had to postpone several interviews of direct recruits including four major recruitment exams to be held in March, April and May. Work will start on the pending result of the recruitment in the Commission’s office which opens from April 20, but the decision regarding the exam calendar will not be taken yet.
After the situation becomes clear on lockdown on May 3, the revised examination calendar will be released by setting new exam dates in the commission meeting. It will be sure that after the office opens, the officers will start preparing assuming that when the lockdown opens after May 3, which examination can be done. Of the four examinations postponed by the Commission, three sections were included in the examination calendar announced by the Commission for the Preliminary Examination 2019, Computer Assistant Exam 2019, PCS Mains 2019 and January 10 while the RO-ARO 2016 was included in the Pre-Examination Calendar. It was not because the decision to cancel its preliminary examination was re-conducted on May 3 after the release of the calendar.
Commission officials say that the entire calendar has been affected due to these four exams as it will also affect the examinations going forward. For example, the date of September 13 for the main examination of BEO was fixed, its preliminary examination could not be done on 22 March, so it will be difficult to get the main examination done in September. Similarly, the result of APO 2018 Pre is not announced yet, so its main examination will not be possible from 16 May. Before fixing the new date of examination, the commission will also have to see whether the school-colleges will be able to meet the center on this date. Also, the examination calendar issued by the Union Public Service Commission has to be kept in mind so that two exams do not fall on the same day. With the office opening on April 20, officers will start brainstorming on it.
