Teaching in Punjab University will remain closed till 30 June. This information was released by the Punjab University. According to the statement, the university administration has decided to suspend the teaching till June 30 as per the circumstances arising out of the Kovid-19 epidemic and the instructions issued by the Government of India, University Grants Council and Ministry of Human Resources. However from Tuesday, June 16, the university’s teaching staff will be called to the office.
The statement clarifies that no teacher or employee will leave the headquarters without permission as anyone can be called at any time when needed. In those academic departments where the number of post-teaching staff is five or less, the department head may call more than 33 per cent of the employees as required. The work shift will be from 9:30 AM to 5 PM and lunch time from 1 PM to 1.5 AM.
Officers will have to come to work all day and the rest of the staff on a rotational basis so that 33 percent of the employees are present.
