The effect of the corona virus is beginning to appear all-round. Corona is also suffering on the careers of youth doing BTech and MTech amid reports of global recession. MNNIT, one of the most renowned technical institutes in the country, used to have jobs in the hands of its students before leaving the campus, where today thirty percent students are worried about their future.
The pace of placement of the seventh semester BTech students in the academic session 2019-20 of MNNIT is low. So far, more than 80 companies from India and abroad have come for placement in the institute. Of these, only 70 percent students have got jobs so far. That is, 778 students who have appeared for B.Tech seventh semester have registered for placement. So far only 540 students have got jobs.
In the current session, each IT and Electrical student got a job in a multinational company at an annual package of Rs 49-49 lakh. So far, companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Uber have come for placement. In academic session 2018-19, 92.42 per cent students got jobs in various companies. The average annual package of the students of the institute has been Rs 10 lakh in the previous session. Prof. in charge of training and placement. While in March and April, dozens of companies were coming for placements. But companies could not come due to the implementation of lockdown due to Corona virus.
