Odisha-based IIT Bhubaneswar said that it has developed a state-of-the-art system of conducting online exams in a comprehensive manner, plugging the existing system. The institute said in a statement that this system can be used to conduct all kinds of examinations in the institute, including class tests and semester examinations. In this technique, a system like ‘Whobox’ has been used. The Indian Institute of Technology said that this new technology will remove many obstacles to conduct only computer-based tests. IIT Bhubaneswar director RV Raja Kumar said that the proposed online exam system is robust and can be used to conduct a wide range of general examinations from computer to general examination. He said that in this system a virtual examination hall, actual inspector, online printed form distribution and soft copy of answer book is used / accepted when required.
The system uses two or more network connections for added convenience for strengthening network connections and for reliable inspection of the inspector. The director said that a student usually has to go to the examination center with computer availability to take the exam, but in contrast the proposed system allows the student to take the exam from home or anywhere in the world.
